Darin Bennett's dark, bluesy, Americana music represents the new breed of the old school singer, songwriter and guitarist. He plays a combination of gritty blues and raw soul infused music with elements of world music and outlaw country. He tops it off with a powerful voice that rises from a mysterious whisper to a raging growl. His diverse influences include Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, John Lee Hooker, Bruce Springsteen, Nick Cave, Robert Johnson, Lightnin' Hopkins, Chris Whitley, Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett.

Darin Bennett is a BMI songwriter & artist with songs that have been featured in productions for Imagine, Disney, the WB, ABC, and the Discovery Channel, among others. Darin has opened for such diverse artists as Hubert Sumlin, Reverend Horton Heat, G. Love, Louisiana Red, Whiskeytown, The String Cheese Incident, Parmalee, Walter Trout, Chuck E. Weiss, Jeff Healey, Wayne Hancock, Harry Dean Stanton, as well as a strange variety of countless others.  He has performed internationally for a wide variety of public and private events.

His debut album as a solo artist, 20 Scarlet Monkeys, was followed by the release of Midnight Storybook with the band Darin Bennett and The Requiem. The video for the first single, ‘Holdin’ Me’ (directed by Andrew Cochrane) was honored as an Official Selection of the LA Shorts Fest and the Sacramento Film & Music Festival.

'Holdin' Me' was chosen as the theme song for Warlocks Rising on the Discovery Channel. Darin also co-wrote and performed the closing song for the feature film The Bad Guys. For 2018/2019, Darin has written and performed the theme song for a new series entitled South of Sanity in addition to scoring the project.

Darin is also a filmmaker, writer and multi-media fine artist with a broad range of experience that began when he found a Super 8 camera, a typewriter, and a paint brush in a frightening broom closet at an undisclosed location in the San Fernando Valley.
